Description of issue

I've on unsupported osx 10.15.7, and trying to compile updates

bunch of packages report clang-format being missing, so I installed it.

so, first question is why building programs want format tool (seems like upstream problem), and why it's not in dependencies (seems like brew problem).

but having clang-format installed, the build still fails:

Can you please share the full contents of /Users/glen/Library/Logs/Homebrew/openexr/01.cmake? Only the last 15 lines are printed there; it's possible the errors occurred earlier in the process.

For some reason dependencies are not updated
brew install libdeflate
brew install openexr
You can do without clang-format
